Amazon is continuing to secure its place in the fashion industry with its latest announcement – the ecommerce giant recently introduced a more interactive way to browse products and keep up-to-date with seasonal trends: Style Code Live.
Style Code Live is a live fashion webseries that allows viewers to browse a variety of clothing and beauty products that are available to buy with just the click of a button. Usually, online shoppers search for products based on the item’s description, relevance, or rating. This video stream is changing how Amazon’s online shoppers search, browse, and view advertisements while also presenting customers with on-trend items in a visually appealing way.
According to Fashion United contributor Sara Ehlers, the new stream “serves as a type of infomercial for the millennial market.”
While watching, viewers will be able to browse featured products such as clothing, makeup, jewelry, and accessories with the use of categorized slideshows.
“This is a really innovative thing that they’ve tried,” Edward Yruma, Equity Analyst at KeyBanc Capital Markets, told WWD. “I think over time, it will really give them credibility with the fashion community.”
Amazon’s new show simplifies the online shopping process while also engaging viewers in a way that’s both informative and entertaining. Rather than serving as an all-encompassing shopping and marketing tool, Style Code Live is directed at a more targeted audience.
“Amazon’s efforts are proving that the company is trying to improve and connect with the fashion industry ore,” Ehlers said.
Since launching their own clothing brand, Amazon has remained focused on a conscious effort to serve a more centralized group of consumers within the beauty and apparel market. Style Code Live is the website’s new one-stop shop for personalized and direct fashion ecommerce, with the potential to change the face of ecommerce user experience as we know It today.
New 30-minute webisodes will air every weeknight at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST.
